Norfolk couple arrested on drug charges

NORFOLK - A Norfolk couple was arrested on drug charges Tuesday afternoon.

According to Captain Mike Bauer, Norfolk Police officers were called to a house in the 700 block of South 3rd Street to assist Nebraska State Probation Officers with a search.

The probation officers had discovered marijuana, prescription medication, and some unknown pills during a search.

Officers tested the unknown pills and identified them as methamphetamine/MDMA (Ecstasy) pills.

The prescription pills were identified as Tramadol and Phentermine and were not prescribed to the residents of the home.

Additionally, children resided in the residence. The residents of the home 34-year-old Kevin Wines and 36-year-old Ayana Moore were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and child abuse.

Both were housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail and the children were placed with the Department of Health and Human Services.
