PD: Stamford teen arrested in connection with double shooting

November 24, 2018

STAMFORD — A city teen was arrested Tuesday and charged in connection with a double shooting on Durant Street this summer, police said.

John Carlos Montero-Delossantos, 19, of Harbor Street, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, risk of injury to a minor and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Montero-Delossantos was held on a $500,000 court-ordered bond.

Police said on the night of June 23, a fight broke out on Durant Street as people were leaving a nearby party. Multiple gunshots were fired from a single suspect — later identified as Montero-Delossantos — and a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Anyone with information about this incident, or any other incident involving Montero-Delossantos, is asked to contact Stamford Police Department Major Crimes at 203-977-4420.
