The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has identified the inmate who died at the Boulder County Jail over the weekend as Perry Vockrodt, 69, of Loveland.

Staff found Vockrodt unconscious at the Boulder County Jail on Dec. 29 and tried to revive him with CPR and an automated defibrillator, but he was pronounced dead.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said foul play is not suspected and that it appears Vockrodt suffered an “acute medical issue,” though the coroner will be responsible for conducting an investigation and determining the official cause and manner of death.

Vockrodt had been booked into the jail Dec. 29 because of open warrants for his arrest for theft, DUI, leaving the scene of a crash and other traffic offenses out of Larimer County.
