Thursday, Feb. 7

Mary’s Seven Joys and Sorrows, 9 a.m. to noon, One Heart One Soul Spirituality Center, 2041 W. State Route 113 (lower level), Kankakee. Come away for a time of prayer. Scripture gives us three lived mysteries of Mary’s life, also lived by Jesus. Seven is a complete number in Scripture. These sacred events give us the daily experiences in Mary’s journey.

Friday, Feb. 8

Fish Fry, Aroma Park American Legion Post 1019, 4:30 to 7 p.m. $8 per person, $7.50 for senior citizens. Fried fish, French fries, coleslaw and roll.

Saturday, Feb. 9

Yoga of 12-Step Recovery Meeting, Central Christian Church’s fellowship hall, 310 Main St. NW, Bourbonnais. This is an addiction relapse prevention program integrating yoga and the practical tools of 12-Step recovery programs.

Vintage Squadron Breakfast, Coyote Canyon, 1359 N. Locke Drive, Bradley. Second and fourth Wednesday of each month, 7:30 a.m. $7 plus tip. A breakfast buffet with fellow veterans. All welcome. No dues or memberships required, just a friendly gathering.

Monday, Feb. 11

Ukulele class, 7 p.m., Kankakee Public Library, second and fourth Mondays of each month. Ukuleles for use are very limited. Participants encouraged to bring their own ukulele.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

Free Tai Chi Wellness Group, 10 a.m., Kankakee Library. Group meets twice per month on the second and fourth Tuesdays for an hour to practice deep stretching, flexibility and creating balance and energy.

Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS), 6 p.m., Kankakee Public Library, free, nondenominational program that supports individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one by suicide. Newcomers always welcome as the group finds a community, direction and resources for healing.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Love and Poetry, 5 p.m., Limestone Library. Share your favorite love poem — original or from a favorite poet — with fellow poetry lovers. Light refreshments. Please register in advance, 815-939-1696.
