August 2, 2018

SEATTLE (AP) — The Interstate 90 floating bridge between Mercer Island and Seattle will be closed at various times starting Thursday as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels roar overhead.

The Washington Department of Transportation says the bridge will be closed to traffic during practices on Thursday and during the Seafair Air Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I-90 will be closed twice on Thursday, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

It will also close from 12:55 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

WSDOT said some ramps on I-90 and I-5 will also close 30 to 90 minutes before the scheduled practice and show times.

The SR 520 floating bridge will remain open to traffic and tolls will be collected as usual.
