Library quilt exhibit explores moments in time

November 16, 2018

The quilt exhibit “Passages” will be on display at the Vette Cultural Arts Center at the Beatrice Public Library during the month of November.

It features 17 quilts that have been touring nationally. They were created by members of the Studio Art Quilt Association (SAQA.) “Passages” was chosen as the theme for these items because they can be either an exploration of one moment captured in time or that instant of movement from one state of being to another.

“Whether the word ‘Passages’ is treated as a noun or a verb, this concept allowed each quilt artist to imagine and create a work that could be either abstract or representational,” a press release read.

This exhibit is available for viewing during regular library hours, Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10-5:30 p.m. and Sunday 2-5 p.m. For more information about the “Passages” art-quilt display, contact the library at www.beatrice.ne.gov/library or 402-223-3584.
