Driver of pickup in pedestrian fatal on US 50 cooperating
MOUND HOUSE, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol says the driver of a pickup truck that hit and killed a pedestrian walking across U.S. Highway 50 in Mound House is cooperating with investigators.
The patrol said Thursday 41-year-old Manuel Jesus Sepulveda of Carson City was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Monday on the highway between Carson City and Dayton.
The patrol says Sepulveda was walking northbound across the highway outside of a crosswalk when he walked into the path of a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup.
The accident shut down the highway for about three hours.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating in the investigation.
