ERIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) _ A steel-hauling truck rammed into a school bus Thursday morning, and several people were reportedly seriously injured.

Aerial photos from the scene in southeastern Michigan showed the front of the truck embedded in the bus. Four to five people were seriously hurt and about 30 others had less serious injuries, WWJ-AM reported.

A boy clutching a teddy bear was carried off on a stretcher.

The school bus was from Pierre Toussaint Academy in Detroit. The school could not immediately provide information on the situation.

The flatbed truck was hauling three rolls of steel, WTOL in Toledo reported.

At least seven fire departments dispatched rescue equipment to the scene, WTOL said. It said two medical helicopters have transported patients to a Toledo hospital.

The crash happened about 11:15 a.m., said state police Sgt. Jeffrey Hook.

``We have vehicles on the way at this time,″ he said.

A Monroe County sheriff’s dispatcher said no one was available to comment because all those with information had left for the crash site.
