Richard G. Brough, 84, of Kankakee, passed away Tuesday (April 9, 2019) at his home.
He was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Kankakee, the son of Clarence L. Sr. and Rose Hamende Brough.
Richard worked at Meadow Gold ice cream factory and Riverwood International. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, fishing and hunting.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are four daughters and four sons-in-law, Lisa (Jim) Behrends, of Kankakee, Trisha (Dennis) Nolan, of Kankakee, Dawn (David) Reick, of Clifton, Melissa Brough, of Kankakee, and Todd Koerner, of Kankakee; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, as well as one on the way; and one sister, Doreen Creviston, of Derby, Kan.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Annette Koerner; two granddaughters, Courtney Brough and Jessica Koerner; three sisters, Celina Pyle, Judith Dluzak and infant sister, Sharon Brough; one brother, Clarence “Babe” Brough Jr.; and his former wife and best friend, Karen.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, St. John Paul II — West Campus, Kankakee. Burial will follow in Sts. Mary and Joseph Cemetery in Chebanse.
