No. 25 Texas A&M 75, Manhattan 56
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ Marianne Miller had 16 points and nine rebounds as No. 25 Texas A&M defeated Manhattan 75-56 Saturday night.
The game was marred by sloppy ball handling as the teams combined for 68 turnovers. Texas A&M (9-3) committed 29 and forced 39, both season highs.
The Aggies led 31-19 at halftime, then put the game away by opening the second half with a 12-2 run. Lana Tucker’s fast-break layup off a steal made it 43-21 with 13:12 left in the game.
Down 62-40 with 5:38 to play, Manhattan went on a 16-6 run, closing to 68-56 with 1:37 to play after consecutive 3-pointers by freshman guard Wanda Camps. But Camps fouled out 21 seconds later.
Angel Spinks and Lisa Branch each contributed 13 points and Martha McClelland added 10 for the Lady Aggies.
Becky Timmins led the Lady Jaspers with 16 points and Gina Somma added 12 points, eight rebounds and seven steals.
