Tyngsboro Chalks Up 3 Big Wins in Quad Meet

Tyngsboro posted wins over Tewksbury, 53-28, Reading, 35-28, and Greater Lowell Tech, 48-30, at a non-league wrestling quad match.

Josh Ducharme (138 pounds), Matt Tyros (145), Mark Thomas (170) and Doug Rocha (182) won three matches apiece for the Tigers.


Evan Rankin (120), Matt Beauschene (152),Zach Souza (160) and Dan Paulauskas (220) were double-winners.

Westford Academy

Westford beat Concord-Carlisle, 42-33, and Peabody/Saugus, 52-6, and lost to Methuen, 46-25, at a quad match.

Jack Quaranto (106/113, 1 pin) and Patrick Hickey (138, 2 pins) were triple winners for the Grey Ghosts (20-5).

Dan Hickey (113, 1 pin), Ian Njihia (132), Jake Morash (182, 1 pin), Ryan Walsh (120, 1 pin) and Stephen Donovan (126, 2 pins) notched two wins each.


Pelham defeated Alvirne, 39-30, and lost to Nashua South, 38-33, and Milford, 36-30, at a New Hampshire quad meet.

Patrick Soonthornprapuet (106, 2 pins), Nick Carroll (182) and Conor Maslanek (195, 2 pins) won three matches each for the Pythons.


Billerica defeated Agawam and lost to Burlington and Marlboro at a non-league quad meet.

Billerica has an overall record of 16-7-1.

Shawsheen Tech

Shawsheen Tech beat Lowell, 48-21, and Framingham, 42-25, and lost to Springfield Central, 49-23, at the Division 1 Coaches Association State Dual Meet Tournament at Franklin High.

Triple winners for the Rams were Omar Eldaly (220), Austin Dube (113) and Frank Foti (120/126).

Walter Humphrey (113) and Deven DeLuca (126) won key matches for Shawsheen Tech (25-4).


The Lions went 3-1 at the Division 1 Coaches Association State Dual Meet Tournament at Franklin High.

Chelmsford tied Framingham, 39-39, but because a winner had to be determined ended up losing on the eighth criteria tiebreaker.

The Lions posted wins over BC High, 46-36, Lincoln-Sudbury, 40-36, and Needham, 49-30.

Coming through with four wins for Chelmsford were Deven Giannino (145, 3 pins), Jeremy Ware (182, 4 pins), Aiden Ahern (195, 4 pins), Mike McLarney (106, 2 pins), Evan Kinney (113, 3 pins) and Patrick Hughes (120, 2 pins).

Anthony Hubbard (126, 2 pins) and Zach Reynolds (138, 1 pin) had 2 wins each.

Greater Lowell Tech

Greater Lowell Tech posted wins over Tewksbury, 42-37, and Wilmington, 40-24, and lost to Tyngsboro, 48-30, at a quad meet.

Posting three wins for the Gryphons were Daelon Rich (220, 3 pins) and Torrey Smith (285, 3 pins).

James Gitnitu (132, 2 pins) and Patrick Carney (138, 2 pins) won 2 matches apiece for Greater Lowell (11-11).


Tewksbury beat Reading, 44-36, and lost to Lowell, 53-28, and Tyngsboro, 53-28, at a quad meet.

Connor Charron was 4-0 at 126 for the Redmen.

Jake Garland posted 3 wins at 145 all by pin.

Jake Callahan (113) and Pat Fleming (160) each pinned down 2 wins.


Burlington beat Agawam, 60-21, and Billerica, 41-30, and lost to Marlboro, 46-24, at a quad meet.

Zack Soda (106), Cam Soda (113), Joe Perna (120/126) and Ryan McGillvray (126/132) were triple winners for the Red Devils.
