Drive-by shooting kills two men in car on Interstate 90 exit ramp in Cleveland, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two men in their 20s were killed Saturday night in a drive-by shooting on an Interstate 90 exit ramp, police say.

Police were called about 7:20 p.m. to the Interstate 90 exit ramp at West 117th Street and found two dead men inside a Chevy Cobalt. One was the driver, and the other was a passenger, Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said.

Neither Cleveland police nor the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office have publicly identified the victims as of Sunday morning.

Investigators learned that a gray vehicle pulled up along the Chevy Cobalt on the ramp, and shots were fired into the Cobalt, Ciaccia said. It’s unclear if one or more individuals were shooting.

A third vehicle was also struck by gunfire, Ciaccia said. The driver of that car, a 24-year-old woman, suffered a gunshot graze to the abdomen and was taken to MetroHealth for treatment.

Cleveland police have not released additional details about the gray vehicle, including a make and model or photos or video of the incident.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact Cleveland police homicide detectives at 216-623-5464.
