NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Washington Redskins visit Tennessee this afternoon in a matchup of teams clinging to playoff hopes. The injury-ravaged Redskins have a shot at winning the NFC East if they win out and getting help. The Titans need to win out and get some help in order to grab the AFC’s sixth and final seed. They’re 5-1 at home and have swept three games with the NFC East.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Baltimore faces the Charges in Los Angeles tonight. The 8-6 Ravens, who currently hold the final AFC wild-card spot, are tied with the Titans and Colts and just a half-game behind Pittsburgh in the AFC North. The Chargers have clinched a playoff berth and are now trying to beat out Kansas City for the AFC West crown and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
UNDATED (AP) — Houston takes on Army this afternoon in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. Army will try to extend its eight-game winning streak and finish with 11 victories for the first time. The 10-2 Black Knights have also won their last three bowl games, including last year’s Armed Forces Bowl. Houston has lost three of its four games since a 7-1 start and will be without injured quarterback D’Eriq King and NFL draft-prepping defensive tackle Ed Oliver.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Grant Williams had 22 points and 10 rebounds as No. 3 Tennessee trounced Wake Forest 83-64 for its sixth consecutive victory. Kyle Alexander scored a career-high 19 points and had 8 rebounds to help Tennessee extend its home winning streak to 15 games. The Volunteers haven’t lost at Thompson-Boling Arena since last season, falling 94-84 to Auburn on Jan. 2.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Ethan Happ scored 19 points and grabbed his 1,000th career rebound, sending No. 16 Wisconsin past Grambling State 84-53. Happ finished with eight rebounds. He is the 15th player in Big Ten history to reach 1,000 rebounds.
