Former PGA Champ Beem Shares Dunhill Lead
ST ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) _ Former PGA Championship winner Rich Beem, David Howell and Alessandro Tadini each shot 5-under 67 at Carnoustie to lead the rest of the field after the opening round of the Dunhill Links Championship on Thursday.
The tournament is being played at three Scottish courses. Those who played Carnoustie on Thursday will move to St. Andrews on Friday and Kingsbarns on Saturday.
Tadini, who has missed his last five halfway cuts since his regular caddy was killed in a car crash early last month, had six birdies in his last nine holes.
Paul Casey and Darren Clarke were among 10 players who shot 68. Thirteen more players were another shot back.
Paul Eales and Garry Houston both had a hole-in-one at the 200-yard second hole at Kingsbarns.
