Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Carbondale Dies

CARBONDALE — The death of a Carbondale man who was struck by a car earlier this week was ruled accidental, Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said Friday. Christopher Sharpe, 62, died of injuries he suffered Wednesday when a vehicle hit him while crossing Brooklyn Street at 6:15 a.m. The city’s police department is continuing its investigation of the crash. No details of the crash have been released. Sharpe died Wednesday in the intensive care unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. Rowland’s office is looking for Sharpe’s next of kin.
