ROCKWALL, Texas (AP) _ Pittsburgh Steelers running back Byron ``Bam'' Morris was in the Rockwall County Jail today after his arrest for possession of between 5 pounds and 50 pounds of marijuana, police said.

Police stopped Morris about 10:30 a.m. for a traffic violation on Interstate 30 east of Dallas, said John Davila, assistant commander of the Northeast Area Drug Interdiction Task Force.

After obtaining Morris' permission to search the vehicle, the officer found the marijuana in the trunk, Davila said.

Morris led all rushers in the Steelers' 27-17 loss to Dallas in this year's Super Bowl with 73 yards. He had 548 yards and a 3.8 yard average during the regular season.

He was to be arraigned later today or Saturday morning, Davila said.

Morris is a native of Cooper in northeast Texas. He won the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back as a junior at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
