BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) _ Five Norwegian skydivers leapt from Thailand's tallest building Saturday, claiming a world record for the largest group to parachute off a building.

The quintet jumped off the 88th floor of the Bai Yok 2 building and soared 1,014 feet to the street below.

Stein Edwardsen, chairman of the Norway Base Jumping Association, said the World Base Jumping Association has confirmed the group broke the record of three parachutists jumping from a building at the same time.

The televised jump will be shown on a Thai television program called ``You Asked for It'' and at the upcoming Oslo Film Festival in Norway.
