So much more than scarecrows in Dixon

September 13, 2018

DIXON – The annual Scarecrow Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday downtown.

There will be pumpkin and face painting, balloons, a petting zoo, craft vendors, a pumpkin patch, photo booth, and fall treats and food. The Pink Heals Sauk Valley chapter will be on site, too.

The Bags for the Brave tournament and veterans ceremony will be part of the festivities. It was originally scheduled to be part of the Blues, Brews & BBQ and Bags for the Brave event, but was canceled due to inclement weather.

Registration for the bags tournament begins at 11 a.m. at the corner of First Street and Hennepin Avenue. The veterans parade will begin at noon, followed by a short ceremony. The bags will fly at 12:30 p.m. Each team is $40 and prizes will be awarded. There will also be a 50-50 drawing and “shoot the puck” game for kids to win a new bike.

Find the event on Facebook or call 815-284-3361 for more information.
