LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Shaquille O’Neal whipped up his favorite sausage omelet on a cable cooking show, then talked about retirement.

``I will be giving up (basketball) when I am 32,″ the 29-year-old Los Angeles Lakers center said. ``I want to go into law enforcement after basketball.″

Last year, O’Neal signed a six-year contract extension for $152 million. The biggest chunk of that, $32.5 million, would come in the 2005-2006 season.

A call Tuesday to his agent was not immediately returned.

O’Neal taped the appearance last week on ``Half Baked,″ a Burly Bear Network cable show that caters to a national college-age audience. It will be shown in September.

The 7-foot-1, 315-pound basketball star, who wore a chef’s hat, admitted that he prefers meals prepared by his personal chef.

``I have a chef at home that cooks me sausage omelets and little pancakes every morning,″ he said.
