Geraldine “Gerry” Inselman, 87, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at The Windcrest on Van Dorn in Lincoln.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24, at Peace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael Klatt officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church or those of the donor’s choice.

Geraldine “Gerry” Mae Inselman was born July 20, 1931, in Platte County, to Albert and Elsie (Henke) Mueller. She was baptized on July 31, 1931, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School, and confirmed her Christian faith through confirmation on March 25, 1945. Gerry graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On Aug. 13, 1950, Gerry was united in marriage to Clarence Inselman at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the reception held at her parents’ home.

Gerry and Clarence moved to his family farm near Creston, where she was the Director of Milking Operations for more than 45 years. They retired and moved to Columbus in January 1996. Gerry and Clarence were blessed with three children: Douglas, Theresa, and Daniel.

Gerry was a faithful member of both St. John’s Lutheran Church and Peace Lutheran Church, served on the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, LWML, and folded bulletins for weekly services at Peace Lutheran. Gerry was a member of the “Lady Slippers” extension club, and enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, playing cards with friends, bowling, crossword puzzles, embroidering, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Nebraska Cornhusker football.

Gerry is survived by son, Douglas (Nell) Inselman of Lincoln; granddaughter, Sadie (Will) Duffy of Lincoln; son, Daniel (Kim) Inselman of Yutan; granddaughter, Angela (fiancé Joey Stednitz) Bray of Fremont; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor, and Lily Stednitz of Fremont; granddaughter, Mary Inselman of Yutan; daughter, Theresa (Steve Kurth) Inselman of Phoenix; step granddaughter, Amanda (Angelo) Calas of Clear Lake, Texas; step great-grandchildren, Aleko, Andoni, and Andreas Calas of Clear Lake; brother, Marvin Mueller of Columbus; brother, Ronald (Gladys) Mueller of Seward; brother-in-law, Jimmy Novak of North Bend; sister-in-law, Eleanor Mueller of Okoboji, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.

Gerry was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Elsie Mueller; husband, Clarence Inselman; sister, Margie Novak; brother, Lester Mueller; sister-in-law, Ardith Mueller.
