LINCOLN -- The Beatrice girls golf team traveled to Lincoln on Thursday to compete the Lincoln Southeast Invite at Pioneers Golf Course.
The Lady O finished seventh with a team score of 447.
The teams they finished behind included Elkhorn (380), Papillion South (386), Columbus (393), Lincoln East (394), Bellevue West (410) and Fremont (419).
Sydney Southwick led the way for Beatrice with a 109 while Mackenzie Barnard was next best with a 111.
Makenna Hutt finished with a 113 and Blake Trusty shot a 114. Makenna Parde rounded out the Beatrice scoring with a 128.
“Our top four scores were very consistent,” said Beatrice Coach Dick Stuart. “Makenna Parde played in her first varsity tournament and did a nice job.”
The Lady O will continue their season on Monday when they travel to the Fairbury Invite.
“We have three weeks for each of our girls to work hard and play almost everyday to improve their scores before the district tournament,” Stuart said. “Our season is short and we cannot afford to take any days off.”
