North Carolina mother charged with murder in infant’s death
WASHINGTON, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina sheriff’s office has charged a woman in the death of her 7-week-old daughter.
News outlets report the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that 31-year-old Adrian Porch is charged with murder and felony child abuse.
According to the news release, the sheriff’s office says it was contacted last Friday by Vidant Police in Greenville about the death of Loralynn O’Neal, who was born on May 3.
The Pitt County Medical Examiner’s Office says Loralynn died from brain trauma after suffering multiple skull fractures. The sheriff’s office says investigators interviewed Porch, but her story about her child’s death changed multiple times and wasn’t consistent with the medical examiner’s findings.
Porch is jailed without bond and scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
