Mary Lou Retton Has Third Child
HOUSTON (AP) _ Sixteen years after she won an Olympic gold medal, Mary Lou Retton has no intention of slowing down.
Retton, 32, gave birth to her third daughter, Skyla Brae Kelley, on Aug. 9, and recently completed a promotional tour for her book, ``Gateways to Happiness.″ She also is working on a children’s television program, ``Mary Lou’s Flip Flop Shop.″
``It’s great being a new mom again,″ Retton said Wednesday. ``The birth of our third daughter is truly a blessing. As our family continues to grow, I want to work hard to reach out to families and children across America.″
Retton and her husband, Shannon Kelley, have two other daughters, Shayla Rae, 5, and McKenna Lane, 3.
Retton, a native of Fairmont, W.Va., won the women’s all-around gold medal in gymnastics at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. She now lives in Houston.
