BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's largest rancher group has a new chief brand inspector.

Blaine Northrop of Dickinson will fill the role for the North Dakota Stockmen's Association, which represents more than 3,000 cattle-ranching families and administers the state's brand inspection and recording programs.

Northrop is a longtime association employee, and previously worked as chief brand inspector in Nevada. He succeeds the retired Stan Misek, who worked for the Stockmen's for 35 years.
