HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) _ Darren McLinton had a career-high 22 points, and Louis Rowe added 21 Saturday as James Madison beat Old Dominion 95-79, handing the Monarchs their first conference loss of the season.

Kent Culuko had 13 points for the Dukes (12-6, 6-2 Colonial Athletic Association), who had lost two of their last three CAA games coming into the contest, including a 79-65 loss at Old Dominion on Jan. 25.

The Monarchs (12-9, 7-1) were led by Petey Sessoms, who had 23 points before fouling out with 3:02 left in the game. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak by the Monarchs.

Old Dominion trailed 44-32 at intermission and was never able to close the gap.

McLinton, a junior, was 6 of 9 from the field, including 5-for-5 from 3-point distance. His previous career high was 21 points against the Monarchs in last season's CAA tournament championship.

Rowe, the CAA's leading scorer averaging 22.9 points a game, fouled out with 1:24 left after playing only 20 minutes.

David Harvey and Mike Jones each scored 12 points for Old Dominion.
