District Doubles Rain Out Helps Wyoming Seminary Rest Up For State Tournament

By Tyler Piccotti, Staff WriterMay 14, 2019

The persistent rain that washed out the start of District 2 boys tennis doubles on Monday may be a blessing in disguise for Wyoming Seminary.

With the Blue Knights ready for their first-round match in the PIAA team tournament, at 1:30 p.m. today against Central Columbia at Williamsport’s Central PA Tennis Center, the washout means they’ll have a well-rested lineup. Their top two singles players, Will Ziegler and Jerry Tang, as well as doubles competitors Keefer Wu and Jake Shoemaker were supposed to play Monday at Kirby Park before making the trip.

“It probably is better than having them out all day (in the doubles tournament),” Sem head coach Allison Joanlanne said Monday. “We’ll get to have a team practice indoors, because that’s where we’ll be (today).”
