Huntington St. Joe hosts annual field day fun
HUNTINGTON — St. Joseph Catholic School celebrated the end of another successful grade school year by treating students to its annual field day Tuesday in downtown Huntington.
Games were circus-themed this year, with each class competing among themselves purely for fun. Students played a life-sized, human version of “Hungry, Hungry Hippos” with scooters and balls in the school’s gym. Outside games included a sponge toss and a relay race tasking students to dress like a clown piece by piece.
Even teachers got involved. In one game, teachers lathered their heads in shaving cream, with students tossing cheese puffs at them — the winner being who could get the most puffs stuck to their teacher’s head.
St. Joe’s last day of school is Friday, May 24.
