2 men get prison time in 2013 asthma attack death of teen
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Two Worcester men who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2013 death of a teen who suffered a severe asthma attack after a fight are headed to prison.
Telegram & Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1R3sQXu ) 21-year-old Michael Ventura and 20-year-old Collage Nunez were each sentenced to 7 to 10 years in state prison on Wednesday. The two men pleaded guilty to manslaughter and additional charges.
Prosecutors said 18-year-old Robert Walker, of Blackstone, was involved in an altercation with three men at a party in Worcester.
Authorities said Walker was chased into the woods after being hit in the head with a bottle, stabbed and kicked. An autopsy determined he died as a result of a severe asthma attack “complicated by physical altercation,” and the death was ruled a homicide.
