Singer mauled by German shepherds in Penn Township
The lead singer of a local band is recovering from a German Shepherd attack that happened in Penn Township.
Amy Demi, UPS driver and member of the band Switch, was delivering a package to a home on Durst Road on Aug. 28, according to Penn Township police Chief John Otto.
“At some point during that delivery she was bitten, attacked, mauled by one or two of the three German Shepherds that this family possesses,” Otto said.
Demi suffered serious injuries, including deep cuts and puncture wounds, particularly on her legs, Otto said.
The homeowner got the dogs off Demi, according to Otto.
Demi was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The case was referred to Penn Township animal control officer Gary Hoffman, Otto said.
Hoffman could not be immediately reached for comment.
