Police chief disputes citation for motorcycle crash
CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts police chief is disputing a citation for a marked lanes violation for a motorcycle crash that left him seriously injured.
The Republican newspaper reports state police provided a redacted version of the crash report Tuesday, more than six months after the crash.
The report says Chicopee Police Chief William Jebb was driving on an interstate off-ramp around 10:30 p.m. when he was unable to keep the motorcycle in the lane and hit the median curbing.
The report says Jebb went airborne and landed in the road.
Jebb says he doesn’t deny the time of the crash and where he landed, but he says he hit a pothole or debris that caused him to lose control.
He blames the investigation on his clashes with the former Chicopee police captain.
