Woman saved from heroin overdose, arrested on warrants after treatment
A 41-year-old woman with no known address was saved from an overdose of heroin Wednesday after receiving two administered doses of Narcan.
The incident occurred at about 7:45 p.m. inside a home in the 500 block of East Danaher Street, where the woman was found passed out by people who live at the address, according to the Ludington Police Department.
Officers responded to the home, where they were told a dose of Narcan had already been administered before officers arrived, but the woman had not yet regained consciousness. An additional dose of Narcan was administered and the woman began to wake up, and she admitted to the officers that she had been using heroin, according to police.
Police said it is unknown if the woman used the heroin at the home or before arriving there.
The woman was transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for further treatment.
After being released from the hospital, the woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Muskegon County.
