Arnold participates in ISBA Statehouse Day
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana School Boards Association held its inagural ISBA Statehouse Day at the Embassy Suites Downtown Hotel in Indianapolis.
Jim Arnold, a member of the ISBA Legislative Committee and also a member of the La Porte Community School Corp., was in attendance.
This half-day seminar helped the legislative liaisons of school boards better understand the Indiana School Boards Association’s 2019 Legislative Priorities.
Terry Spradlin, ISBA Executive Director, presented a briefing on the 2019 Indiana General Assembly Legislative Session to-date, along with presenting the priority bills for ISBA.
Following that in-depth presentation, attendees were able to participate in a panel discussion with President Pro Tempore Rod Bray, R-Martinsville, State Rep. Ed Delaney, D-Indianapolis; and State Rep. Bob Behning, R-Indianapolis. This lively panel discussion was insighful and informative to all in attendance.
Following a lunch discussion with their local legislators, attendees made their way to the Indiana Statehouse to view the presentation of Senate Concurrent Resolution 30, which congratulated ISBA on its 70th annivesary.
Attendees were dismissed after the presentation of the resolution to conduct previously scheduled meetings with their local legislators.
