Library to host antique appraisal fundraiser
Friends of the Watertown Public Library will host an antique appraisal fundraiser event featuring Mark F. Moran, author and antiques expert, on Saturday, April 6, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Watertown Public Library.
Formerly a senior editor of Antiques and Collectibles Books for Krause Publications, he will examine and discuss each item for registered participants.
Preregistration is required. The cost is $15 per item. Average appraisal time will be four minutes per item.
Categories of objects for appraisal may include fine art, furniture, ceramics, glassware, advertising, folk art, assorted toys, metalware, clocks, costume jewelry, musical instruments and sports memorabilia.
Questions about excluded items may be submitted to Moran in advance to determine if they are appropriate by calling 715-281-5060 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Opinions of value are informal and may not be used for insurance or charitable donations, which require a certified appraisal.
Preregistration and payment are required. Call the Watertown Public Library reference desk to reserve a spot at 920-545-2331. Nonparticipants or spectators are also welcome to sit and watch as Moran discusses the items brought by others. All proceeds will benefit the Watertown Public Library.
