Edison International: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
ROSEMEAD, Calif. (AP) _ Edison International (EIX) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $392 million.
On a per-share basis, the Rosemead, California-based company said it had profit of $1.20. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.58 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.15 per share.
The electric power provider posted revenue of $2.81 billion in the period.
Edison International expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.61 to $4.81 per share.
Edison International shares have risen 23% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has risen 20%. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $70.05, a rise of nearly 5% in the last 12 months.
