FLORENCE, S.C. – A Choice to Make, a pregnancy resource center. hosted an open house on Friday. The nonprofit organizaton moved this year from its Evans Street location to 516 S. Coit St. in Florence and wanted to give the community an opportunity to visit the new facility.

The center offers free and confidential services such as pregnancy testing, limited ultrasound, pregnancy counseling, adoption information, abortion recovery, parenting classes and other educational services for new and expecting mothers.

On the premises is a Baby Boutique where pregnant women and new mothers can earn baby items and maternity items by attending classes.

Theresa Leach, center director, said first-time mothers and expectant women can earn three items of their choice from the donated items in the boutique for attending one educational class. She said fathers are encouraged to attend and also receive a three-item credit for attending.

She said there is a sense of purpose in contributing something toward the items received.

When the classes are completed, they receive a large basket filled with similar items and one large baby item at request such as a car seat or stroller.

The mothers can also earn clothing for themselves.

Leach said the program is free and designed to help mothers.
