OLYPHANT, Pa. (AP) — Officials say a planned expansion of a northeastern Pennsylvania business will create about 300 new jobs.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune reports that Process Technologies and Packaging plans a 407,000-square-foot facility at Scott Technology Park in Lackawanna County.

Process controller Shawnna Giumento told township supervisors Tuesday night that the company, which produces cosmetics, is looking to consolidate operations and add more manufacturing space.

The first phase alone would cost $20 million to $25 million. Giumento said the new jobs would range from manufacturing and assembly employees to chemists, researchers and developers, with about 600 people working in the facility once the project is completed.
