University of the Incarnate Word buying AT&T building on Broadway
The University of the Incarnate Word is buying AT&T Inc.’s eight-story building and 10-acre lot on Broadway, officials said Thursday.
The AT&T property — valued at $17 million last year — sits across Hildebrand Avenue from the university.
It’s not immediately clear how much the university plans to pay for the site. AT&T did not list an asking price.
The Broadway property is one of AT&T’s last remaining San Antonio vestiges since the telecommunications giant moved its headquarters to Dallas in 2008.
After the sale of the Broadway property, AT&T’s most valuable San Antonio holding will be its 476,000-square-foot office building at 105 Auditorium Circle, near the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in downtown San Antonio — valued at $8.5 million last year by the Bexar Appraisal District.
AT&T sold its building at 1010 N. St. Mary’s St. in 2014 to a New York real-estate investment trust but leases the space. That property was valued at $28.8 million in 2015, the earliest figure available from the appraisal district.
