Friendly Sons Scholarships

The Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick recently held its annual charity golf outing to raise and distribute scholarship funds to local college students of Irish decent. For the past 21 years, the friendly sons have distributed more than $45,000 in scholarship funds to assist students of both King’s College and most recently, Misericordia University. At the start of this year’s outing, a check for $1,500 was given to a student from each school selected by the Friendly Sons scholarship committee.
