2 hurt in Route 28 crash in Armstrong County

Two women were hurt Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on Route 28 in Armstrong County.

State police said Arlene M. Clowes, 73, of Strattanville, was headed south just past the Exit 18 in South Buffalo Township at 2:10 p.m. when she lost control of her Chevrolet Impala. Troopers said the car hit a barrier on the southbound side before crossing both lanes of traffic and colliding with the northbound barrier.

Clowes was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Police said her passenger, Sybil S. Wein, 93, of Clarion was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
