OLBH looks for Meals on Wheels drivers
ASHLAND — Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) is encouraging individuals to utilize National Volunteer Week (April 7-13) as the perfect time to volunteer to drive the hospital’s four Meals on Wheels routes in Bellefonte, Flatwoods, Russell and Westwood.
“National Volunteer Week is an awareness event where volunteerism is encouraged and we hope people use the spirt of the week to donate their time to OLBH Meals,” said OLBH Community Health Director Diva Justice. “Our program assists the homebound elderly and the disabled in maintaining their health, independence and quality of life. For volunteers, it only takes a few hours just one day a month.”
Volunteer drivers are asked to drive during lunch hours only one day a month for one to two hours. Drivers use their own vehicles and fuel. OLBH assists with meals being delivered five days a week to elderly or disabled people with food being prepared at OLBH.
