NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ Amber Obaze scored 13 of her 21 points in the second half to lead No. 15 Louisiana Tech to a 68-53 victory over Tulane on Saturday.

Obaze, who went 0-of-13 from the field and did not score Wednesday in a 60-35 loss to No. 4 Tennessee, added seven rebounds and five assists.

The Lady Techsters (3-2) never trailed after Amisha Carter’s layup gave them a 19-18 lead with 8:14 left in the first half.

Tech led 31-24 at halftime and scored the first eight points of the second half to push its lead to 39-24.

Tulane (3-2) closed within 45-43 in the final 10 minutes, but committed turnovers on six consecutive possessions.

Trina Frierson scored 10 points for Tech, and Cheryl Ford added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Teana McKiver led Tulane (3-2) with season highs of 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots. Delacey Joseph scored 13 points for the Green Wave, and Lakethia Hampton had a career-high 10.

Tech was the first team to score more than 57 points against Tulane this season. The Techsters outrebounded Tulane 47-39.

Tech earned its 28th consecutive victory over a Louisiana school, all by at least 15 points. The Techsters’ last loss to a state opponent came in the 1996-97 season, a 66-63 loss to New Orleans.
