WEST HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) _ Vuzix Corp. (VUZI) on Thursday reported a loss of $6.1 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the West Henrietta, New York-based company said it had a loss of 24 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 22 cents per share.

The wearable device maker posted revenue of $2.6 million in the period.

Vuzix shares have climbed roughly 9 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $6.80, a climb of 16 percent in the last 12 months.
