Christmas Anonymous to open donation center

November 26, 2018

Christmas Anonymous will start accepting donations Monday.

One week per year, the Rochester organization sets up its donation center at Christ United Methodist Church, 400 Fifth Ave. SW, to accept bicycles, toys and outerwear, which will help area families have a merrier Christmas.

Last year, 542 families were supported.

Families apply to be helped through one of three organizations — WIC (Women’s, Infants and Children) Program, Channel One Food Shelf or Olmsted County Community Services.

This year’s donation center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 1, the final day.

While donations are sought, so are helping hands, according to the organization’s website. “No need to contact us, just show up and help out,” it states.

Christmas Anonymous has operated in Rochester for more than five decades on 100 percent volunteer support with the sole mission of helping Olmsted County residents have a wonderful Christmas.
