Police: Released From Prison, Man Steals More Snow Blowers
MILWAUKEE (AP) _ A man who spent four years in prison for breaking into a garage and trying to steal a snow blower filched 15 more soon after his release, police said.
The 27-year-old man broke into 76 garages in Milwaukee and suburban Wauwatosa between Nov. 7 and Nov. 25 and stole the snow blowers, which he sold in bars and gasoline stations, police Detective Thomas Radomski said.
Ronald D. Gatson sold them for about $75 each to support a cocaine habit that cost him about $300 a day, a criminal complaint said. The complaint accuses Gatson of stealing a station wagon to drive to the burglary locations, then removing only items that fit into his car and could be sold quickly.
He was charged Nov. 28 with four counts of burglary and one count of operating an auto without owner’s consent. He remains in jail in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
