December 22, 2018

SHELTON — City police are hoping the public can help them track down a man they say got into a physical altercation with a store clerk early Thursday morning.

Around 12:20 p.m., the suspect walked into the Cumberland Farms store at 819 River Road in Shelton and asked the clerk for two cartons of cigarettes, said Detective Richard Bango.

“When the clerk retrieved the cigarettes the man grabbed them and a physical altercation occurred between the two,” he said. “The suspect was able to overpower the clerk and fled on foot with the cigarettes.”

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call the Shelton Police Department at 203-924-1544. All calls will be kept confidential.
