Brewers Acquire Novinsky From Cardinals
MILWAUKEE (AP) _ The Milwaukee Brewers acquired right-handed reliever John Novinsky from the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday.
Novinsky, 24, is the second of two players to be named in the Mike DeJean trade of August 22.
Novinsky split his season between Class-A Plam Beach and Double-A Tennessee. He posted a combined record of 4-3 with a 3.60 ERA and 19 saves in 55 games.
Novinsky, a ninth round pick of the Cardinals in 2000, was assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Right-handed reliever Mike Crudale was the first player to be named.
