Bolasie leaves Palace for Everton
LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Congo international Yannick Bolasie has joined Everton from fellow Premier League club Crystal Palace for a reported fee of 25 million pounds ($32.25 million).
Everton announced the signing of Bolasie on a five-year deal Monday, with the 27-year-old winger saying “it was a no-brainer to come here.”
Bolasie, a tricky and explosive forward, said “it’s not about the money for me. It’s about looking at the ambition of the club and where they are trying to get to.”
Everton, which has greater financial power since Iranian-British businessman Farhad Moshiri became majority shareholder in February, bought center half Ashley Williams — the Wales captain — from Swansea last week.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman, formerly coach of Southampton, said “Yannick is a player who has been a long time on my radar.”
