Officials search southeast Montana river for drowning victim

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Officials are searching a southeastern Montana river for a reported drowning victim.

The Rosebud County sheriff’s office says a young man was reported to have drowned in the Tongue River near Birney at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Wednesday’s search was unsuccessful and crews were back out Thursday. The victim’s age has not been released.
