In tonight’s Mississippi U.S. Senate runoff election, Democratic challenger Mike Espy hopes to pull off a shocking upset after a series of controversial statements made by incumbent Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith have Republicans facing the prospect of losing another seat in a deep-red state.

Google, Walmart and Major League Baseball are among the companies that have asked for a refund of their campaign contributions after Hyde-Smith was recorded earlier this month making a controversial statement about attending a public hanging.
