Havasu’s culinary school students volunteer at the food bank
Lake Havasu City’s WAVE-JTED culinary school students helped sort items at the Havasu Community Health Foundation’s food bank Monday.
The event prepared food donations this week for Havasu’s less fortunate, including non-perishable items, fruits and vegetables.
This outing was the first of its kind for WAVE-JTED students, but according to instructor Shawna Schneikart, it won’t be the last. “This was our first annual event,” Schneikart said. “For us, this was a holiday project. Our students sorted food for Thanksgiving and Christmas to spread out the good will. They had a good time.”
